Professional whitening suits patients with healthy teeth and gums whose natural shade has darkened over time from coffee, tea, wine or age. It is not suitable for pregnant patients, for teeth with active decay or untreated gum disease, or for whitening existing crowns and veneers (which do not change colour).
We use clinically approved, dentist-applied whitening gels at concentrations safe under professional supervision. Over-the-counter products are not used in the clinic.
Most whitening plans are completed in a single clinical visit of 60 to 90 minutes. Home top-up trays can be arranged as an add-on when suitable.
Some patients experience short-term sensitivity to cold for 24 to 48 hours; it settles on its own. We recommend avoiding strongly coloured foods and drinks (coffee, red wine, curry) for 48 hours to protect the new shade.
